Wife to Scott who also makes my frames for me. I'm a hairdresser by trade. I have always loved detail and more often than not didn't finish anything that I started as I got lost in it. I have many sketches from a much younger me showing this. My feather paintings came about when a friend said to me" you love birds and you love feathers why don't you have a go at painting on feathers?" They started small and unframed and whilst getting artwork ready for one of my Solo Exhibitions I decided to frame three, a Tui,a Morepork and a Wood Pigeon and the rest is history. I paint realistically and intuitively as nothing is planned, I just start with an idea and it flows from there, I balance and change things as I go. |
